Our Newcastle Flying School is based at Cessnock Airport, approximately a 40 minute drive from the centre of Newcastle, and located in the heart of the Hunter Valley wine country.
Training we provide
We provide professional flight training at our Newcastle Flying School for a whole variety of ratings and endorsements, from the Tailwheel Undercarriage Endorsement through to the Multi-Engine Instrument Rating and Gas Turbine Engine Endorsement.
With no dedicated Newcastle Flying School at Newcastle Airport itself, we are ideally placed to provide flying training for the region, which lends itself to instrument training in particular with a multitude of instrument approaches conveniently located. We have use of the NDB Approach at Scone, the GPS RNAV Approach at Maitland and the Instrument Landing System at Williamtown, all within a 20 minute flight time of Cessnock.
For our students convenience, we have a cafe located at the airport and also accommodation onsite at the flying school for students who have traveled from other areas. Airline flights arrive daily into Newcastle from Melbourne and Brisbane and we can assist with a shuttle service from Newcastle Airport across to our flying school at Cessnock.
We are also able to provide training in your own aircraft, whether for an initial checkout or additional ratings you want to add. Contact us with your requirements and we will create a training schedule that works for you.
