Training Fleet
Blue Sky Airways’ training fleet includes single and multi engine piston aircraft, as well as multiple turbine types.
Cessna Grand Caravan
- Glass Cockpit
- CASA Approved C208 Type Training
- Gas Turbine Endorsement
For the last 30 years, the Cessna Grand Caravan has been recognised as the luxury sports utility vehicle of the air. Proven to be one of the most versatile, reliable and economic aircraft Cessna have ever built it comes as no suprise that the Caravan is one of the most widely used turbo-prop aircraft in the world.
We provide initial and recurrent training on the Cessna Caravan series, and are also approved by CASA to conduct Training and Checking on type for other operators.
Daher TBM 850
- Pressurised
- Very high performance
- Max. Altitude FL310
The Socata (Daher Aerospace) TBM700/850 series is a single-engine turboprop designed for executive use. Capable of cruising at over 300 knots and up in the flight levels, way above the weather.
We have a CASA approved syllabus for the TBM850 initial training and flight review on type required under CASR 61.747.
Beechcraft Duchess
- Instrument Training
- Multi-Engine Class Rating
- Instrument Proficiency Check
The Beechcraft BE76 Duchess is a docile, easy to handle, multi engine aeroplane with counter rotating propellers to eliminate having a ‘critical engine’ (something you will learn about during your multi-engine training).
We use the Duchess for the multi-engine class rating, as well as instrument rating training.
The BE76 carries over four hours of fuel, making it ideal for longer legs and navigation training.
Piper Super Cub
- Tailwheel Endorsement
- Bush Flying Courses
- Private Hire
With extremely docile handling characteristics and slow speed, the Piper Super Cub is ideal for gaining the tailwheel endorsement, and is the first step on the path to flying our bigger tailwheel bush planes.
Our Super Cub is the 150hp model, with flaps and starter motor. Providing good “off airport” performance to experience airstrips you can’t in other types.
dehavilland beaver
- Advanced Tailwheel Training
- Bush Flying Courses
- Scenic Flights
The king of bush-planes, the de Havilland Beaver is used in remote parts of the world to deliver supplies where ground transportation infrastructure is inadequate or does not exist, along with the conduct of emergency service operations and, as a luxury toy.
Our Beaver is currently configured on wheeled undercarriage and is available for scenic flights, advanced tailwheel, bush strip and type familarisation training.
Cessna 172
- Wide cabin for training
- RPL and PPL Training
- Hour building
The Cessna 172 is the most produced single-engine aircraft in history, a fact that is testament to it’s qualities as both a training aircraft and private tourer.
The 172 is wider than our Cessna 152, providing more comfort for the student during training. We utilise the 172 for our Recreational Pilot Licence and Private Pilot Licence courses.
