Floatplane Endorsement
Want to combine your love of flying and boating? Then training in a seaplane may be for you!
Subject to availability (as the aircraft are both sometimes on landplane landing gear), we are able to conduct float endorsements in our amphibious Cessna Caravan or DeHavilland Beaver
When on floats, both aircraft are able to operate from our runway base at Cessnock in the Hunter Valley, and then retract the wheels to begin your water operations! Depending on weather, we conduct the training across a variety of waterways around Newcastle and Lake Macquarie, as well as some freshwater locations further inland.
The floatplane endorsement doesn’t just cover taking off and landing on the water, but also handling whilst on the water, mooring and beaching etc. In addition, you’ll learn about care of the seaplane during the endorsement, as corrosion issues are generally more prominent than for land planes.
